Event Crisis Planning

The below article discusses the importance of having an event crisis plan. While I agree that this is very important and part of every event I am responsible for, the unexpected, unplanned occurrences are when the true experience comes in.

Why hire an event professional? All of the planning in the world can NOT make up for real life event management experience. I have had a truck knock down a clients entry wall, a domestic altercation, medical emergencies, improper installations fall, no show vendors, mother nature wreaking havoc .... and the list goes on....

How would you handle these issues in real time as you are trying to host your corporate or social event with attendees being none the wiser?
